    TEAM: MIB 1-1

    JUSTKITTING

    No More Waste.

  • Executive summary

In the U.S., students and small households waste a considerable amount of food yearly. Spoiled items and unused parts of fruits and vegetables cause this waste. On average, households discard 31.9% of their food, equaling 42 billion pounds yearly. This results in an economic cost of $240 billion, or $1,866 per household per year, spent on uneaten food.

#JUSTKITTING helps households become more conscious about food waste and, at the same time, save money on meals and groceries. The app allows us to order groceries, track all of the groceries in our refrigerator, keep track of expiration dates and leftovers, and, simultaneously, suggest different recipes that can be made based on the foods within your fridge.

Our app differentiates from competitors as all our services can be found in a simple and easy-to-use app without the need for multiple apps for each service; our app #JUSTKITTING helps small households become more conscious about food waste while at the same time, it helps them save money and prevent food waste.
