    Where Excess Food Finds a Fresh Start.

  • Executive summary

    Fooga is addressing the problem of food waste. Currently, 40% of food in the United States is wasted. We came up with solutions to reduce food waste and repurpose the existing waste. Our two main approaches are the implementation of an app and a composting plant. The app will connect people who have excess food with other individuals who are willing to take the excess food. We thought of operating this as a subscription model to gain a constant revenue stream. Our composting plant will compost expired food provided by households, hotels, supermarkets, etc. and will then sell it to farmers or retailers at a competitive price.

     

    As the problem of food waste is not going to end soon (indeed, there will be a global annual increase of 5.4%), Fooga provides a solution to reduce the environmental impact of this by giving food waste a fresh start.
